From children’s musicals to marches
The organizers of the saalemusicum can be quite proud of this event. At least that’s what kuno holzheimer, artistic director of the bavarian music academy and project manager for the saalemusicum, thought. From 17. June to 30. July 2017 there will be music, singing, theater and even a children’s musical along the frank saale again this year.
The saalemusicum takes place along the 125 kilometers of the river between the springs in alsleben/oberessfeld and gemunden – here the frank saale flows into the main river. Kuno holzheimer sees the festival as a community product in which the villages and also the local artists present themselves. Thanks were extended to erdinc yurdakul from the project office of the saalemusicum, who had once again mastered his tasks superbly, as well as to all the contributors. It is pleasing that the commitment of the clubs and associations continues in 2017. Looking back at the year 2016, kuno holzheimer said that again more than 30.000 guests were paid, including many fans who often traveled from far away.
The event does not have to be directly on the french saale or its tributaries, the project manager clarified. "There are other nice places, such as a pond or an already designed village center", according to holzheimer. In 2016, 51 saalemusicum events took place in 40 locations in rhon and grabfeld. However, there were still opportunities in other towns that did not participate. Here the appeal went to the municipalities and associations "to have courage and come forward." This year the saalemusicum begins at the spring in alsleben and ends with the gemunden festival on 30. July in gemunden. The saalemusicum march has developed "as a kind of anthem of our event" developed. What the project director would like to see were artists who not only perform specifically in their hometown, but can also be seen at saalemusicum events in the neighboring town or on other dates. In the coming year 2018, the saalemusicum will start for the 15th time. For the first time. This birthday is to be celebrated with a central event, such as the "european music day", to be celebrated. Politicians are also to be invited to the events to a greater extent. "Important and very promotional" the artistic director named the banners, advertising posters and flyers. The program in particular had a major influence on the number of visitors: despite the rain, a large number of guests turned up. After various events, the festival will take place on friday, 7.
